3 big dates this week!

Just a friendly reminder about three big dates this week:

W 2/19: Commonwealth Honors Project proposals due (extended deadline)

TH 2/20: NYC signups (see below for details)

F 2/21: Honors House Room Selection (see below for details)

Please note that only honors students in good standing (GPA and events) are eligible for NYC and Honors House.

This week also features the Study Abroad Fair, poetry by Forrest Gander and Christina Davis, and the Worcester State Theatre production of Pillowman.  Please see the Honors calendar for details.

“Honors House” is a special wing in Wasylean Hall reserved for Honors students.  There will be a separate room selection for Honors House on February 21st (1-2 p.m. in 7 Hills Lounge, Wasylean Hall).  Residence Life recommends that you sign up in groups of six, but they will help create groups that day as needed.  Please contact Jim Mournighan with any questions (jmournighan@worcester.edu).

Honors Goes to the Big Town: April 5th-April 6th, 2014

This year’s NYC trip includes a visit to the  Museum Mile and Central Park on Saturday (optional), a group dinner,  and a multi-ethnic eating and history tour of the Lower East Side on Sunday.  Please note that the hotel, bus, and food tour will be paid for by the Honors Program; you’ll need spending money for food, subways, additional activities, etc.

Sign up: Thursday, February 20th in the Honors Lounge (LRC-218)

7:30 a.m.: priority registration for Honors students in good standing (GPA and activities) who have never attended the NYC trip before

8:00 a.m.: registration for Honors students in good standing (GPA and activities) who have attended the NYC trip in previous years

Procedures:
-You must sign up in person.

-There will be two lists: trip sign up and suggested roommates.

-We will also keep a wait list for the trip.

-Don’t worry if you don’t have a roommate: we will find you one!  And while we will do our best to accommodate all roommate requests, we can’t promise to keep all groups together.
-Please be sure to check your calendars in advance: make sure you don’t have family, work, school, or sports conflicts.  This is a serious commitment.

-The library’s front doors open at 7:30 a.m., but you can get in the building earlier through the first floor entrance on the side of the LRC.

Please write to Professor Weierman (kweierman@worcester.edu) with any questions.  We are looking forward to a fabulous trip!
